The Teaching Performance Assessments (TPA) are being implemented in Queensland initial teacher education courses to assure classroom ready teachers in all Queensland schools and build high standards for the future of the profession and quality student outcomes.
The TPA is:
Queensland initial teacher education providers are currently implementing the following TPA’s:
Graduate Teaching Performance Assessment (GTPA): Australian Catholic University, Christian Heritage College, Central Queensland University, Griffith University, James Cook University, Southern Cross University, The University of Queensland and University of Southern Queensland
Quality Teaching Performance Assessment (QTPA): Queensland University of Technology and University of the Sunshine Coast.
The QCT has partnered with its key stakeholders to develop resources to support implementation of the TPA reform in schools.
This new reform responds to the 2014 TEMAG Report and findings in the 2018 Report of the Review to Achieve Education Excellence to improve the classroom readiness of graduate teachers. If you have any questions about the TPA reform please contact the QCT at ProfessionalStandards@qct.edu.au.
A QCT playlist of video resources has been developed in partnership with the Institute of Learning Sciences and Teacher Education (ILSTE) and initial teacher education (ITE) providers to share the experiences of implementing the TPA, the Graduate Teacher Performance Assessment (GTPA) in schools.
